Converting HEIF/HEVC Photos to JPEG Format

Overview

The HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) and HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) formats allow for efficient storage of high-quality photos.

However, these files may not be compatible with all software, so you might need to convert them to a more universally supported format like JPEG. Here’s a simple way to convert these files using the built-in Photos app.

Instructions

  1. Open the HEIC Image

    • Locate the HEIC photo on your computer, right-click, and select Open with > Photos to open it in the Photos app.
  2. Access the Save Options

    • Click on the ellipsis icon (three dots) in the top-right corner of the Photos app.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
