Overview
Welcome to 1Password! This guide walks you through the steps to activate your 1Password account using Single Sign-On (SSO) with your SamTrans email. Follow the instructions below to complete your setup and access 1Password securely.
Prerequisite
- Before you begin, make sure you’ve been added to the 1Password SSO Users group.
- Please allow up to 40 minutes for your access to be provisioned.
- The 1Password app and browser extension should already be deployed to your computer.
- If you don’t see them, please contact IT so we can get them installed for you.
Getting Started
Reminder: After clicking the invite link, keep your browser open and complete the setup in the same window. This helps ensure your first sign-in goes smoothly.
- Check your inbox
- Once you're added to 1Password SSO Users, you’ll receive an invite email titled: "Join San Mateo County Transit District on 1Password"
- Click “Join now”
- Follow the steps in the invite email to begin setup.
- Sign in with Microsoft
- Sign in using your @samtrans.com email address. You may be prompted to do this twice.
- Approve the sign-in request
- Approve the prompt via your authenticator app or preferred method.
- Watch for confirmation
- A message will appear saying you’ll receive an approval email shortly.
Note: The SCIM bridge will automatically confirm your account within 5 minutes.
- Look for the welcome email
- After a few minutes, check your inbox for a second email confirming that your account setup is complete.
- Log in to 1Password
- Go to https://smctd.1password.com
- Enter your @samtrans.com email and click Continue
- . Click Sign in with Microsoft
- You may be prompted again to log in or enter an authenticator code.
